enjoyed it but so many aspects didn't seem as rounded out as they could have been, like I would have enjoyed more personality from the band because they felt more like a tool than characters a lot of the time

It's like egotistic from Mamamoo but with angsty teenagers :) *also why did this not win*
The only thing I couldn't understand is why would you tell someone you've just met about your scandalous summer flings?

I loved this book because I really found myself rooting for the characters. For a book which is <300 pages long it did a great job developing a complex cast of characters with flaws and problems connected to deeper issues in their lives. While Oliver and Will's relationship (the main relationship) was definitely rocky, the author did a great job establishing the causes of many of the issues in their relationship. I often find books where the two main character 'can not be together' to be exhausting because of how trivial some of the reasons for characters being apart are and the fact that this trope is often paired with miscommunication. This book did not resort to miscommunication and the reasons the characters can not *openly* be together are real, important reasons not weak excuses used to create more drama and extend the book. Finally, I loved how Oliver handled
Spoiler his Aunt's death-the existentialism and helplessness felt relatable. It reminded me of how I felt after losing my first grandparent and even though it is somewhat short lived in the novel (page count wise), it almost brought me to tears.
