This book was interesting. I enjoyed the premise of looking at women's experiences of the Trojan war, particularly enjoyed the ways in which the author put forth her argument that the women were just as heroic as the men. My favourite chapters were Calliope's, I found her to be a witty and insightful character as well as being the one who developed the author's arguments.
However, the book felt disjointed for me. The retelling was maybe a little bit too predictable and the decision to split up each chapter into one mini story meant I was less hooked by the book than I thought I would be.
Overall, an interesting view on the Greek classics but lacked a little of the suspense that would have kept me reading.
