Pros: I thought the characters were interesting, and the texting format was fun. Cons: I thought some of the dialogue tried a bit too hard or felt forced.

Also a note of warning that even though this seems like more of a romcom/breezy book, it deals with quite a lot of serious topics that I think could potentially be triggering.

Sweet and sad and sappy and just all around a book I am glad I read.

I felt like the book developed in certain places but the author never really resolved it. Like the only thing that improved was penny and celeste’s relationship. There were alot of open endings, like what happened to the anima, and why would she build up the date with sam just cut to acknowledgements??? The book was cute, and some of the scenes were funny but i dont think I’d recommend

How is this such a simple YA Romance and still SO much more. God, I loved this. The humor is like salted caramel -  exactly to my taste (Am I phrasing this correctly? It sounds weird in my head but I don't know how else to articulate this). Every character feels fleshed out and is likeable or at least complex enough so you can't hate them.
I don't want a boyfriend, I want a Sam.

At first I thought this was a shallow romance but it evolves into a meaningful story about connecting to others, relationships, family friendships, social risks, anxiety and working through the tragedies in our lives and finding purpose whether it's art, baking. Film, writing, or other ways. It's very beautiful and inspiring
