Cassandra is an FBI agent who specializes in profiling killers and is sent to London, England in order to help with several murders that caused an uproar in the city. She is very smart and a really badass character who knows how to take care of herself but when she starts to see things that others can’t is when she really starts to blossom.
Let me start off by saying I finished this book in one sitting! I started it and was hooked but the first few chapters and just couldn’t put it down. It has a very interesting story and it does have a great ending but it also leaves it open for more books in the series. The biggest thing I liked about this book with it being a murder mystery was that you continued to get pieces of the puzzle the entire book and got everything answered in the end so you weren’t left mad and reeling at the end. This is an extremely well written book with a fantastic story and I would recommend this again and again!

CN Crawford and Alex Rivers bring another fantastic start to a series with this book. Imagine Criminal Minds and Lost Girl had a book baby, that would be this book.
The mysteries around Jack the Ripper style murders brings the FMC to London where she discovers even more about herself than she bargained for when she arrived.
The MMC is mysterious, brooding and definitely hiding more than the reader finds out in this book, so I’m definitely going to be continuing this series.
I really liked the aspect of mirror magic that was introduced and that the fae gain back their strength by feeding off human emotions

Interesting concept and great world building!
The story starts off with Cassandra arriving in London to assist the London police with a serial killer investigation and from the get go she encounters some unsavory characters who are not from our world.
I liked how Cassandra went into detail about her thoughts and experiences and how she analyzed them from her psychologist perspective.
The first half reads like a normal crime novel with weird occurrences mixed in and the second half reads like a fantasy novel. The two different styles mesh pretty well together.
I look forward to reading the next book!

I had been eyeing this book for awhile and was excited to see it up for review on NetGalley. I immediately jumped on the chance. Cassandra has been called across the ocean from the US to help in London on a serial killer case. She works as a profiler for the FBI, and her expertise is just what they need. While helping them, Cassandra learns many things about herself and her past. But, will it all be too late to stop a killer? I wasn’t sure what to expect when I read this book, but I definitely got more than I bargained for. I loved this book. The writing was great, the storyline was interesting and kept me entertained from start to finish, and I loved the characters. I didn’t even figure out who the killer was until right before the big reveal. Was it perfect? No. There was one point where all one character had to do was blow out the flame to stop the bad guy (I don’t want to spoil a part of the book), and I have to say why did they have to call in someone from the US? However, the flaws were very minor, and I can’t wait until the next one of the series. I will definitely check out more books by these authors. Highly recommend! Thanks to NetGalley and Weapenry Co-op/C.N. Crawford-Alex Rivers for the e-book which I voluntarily reviewed. This exact review will be posted on both Amazon and Goodreads.
Roan is a dick and I can't decide how I feel about Cassandra, but I enjoyed the world building enough that I'm jumping right into book two.
I am so conflicted on this book.
The premise is really cool and the main plot is too, but the amount of sexual tension explicitly shared is ridiculous and annoying.
Added to that is the always unnecessary love triangle (angle really) and I don't really want to see where that goes.
