Another one I read over and over in my fourth grade class. Running away to a museum, sleeping in the over sized Victorian beds, scraping coins off the floor of a fountain to pay for refreshments at the soda fountain... that sounded like the life for me!
Five stars.

A cute little coming into your own story for Middle Grade readers!
What a great story! I don't recall ever coming across this book before, but I do vaguely remember other stories about kids locked/trapped/hiding in public places that intrigued me as a child. I'm glad I picked it up.
3.5 stars.
This was probably the most fun I've had reading a Newbery winner since 'Holes'. A little bit of mystery, a little bit of rebellion, and who the hell wouldn't want to live in a museum?!? THINK OF THE KNOWLEDGE.

For some reason, I never got to read this as a kid so on a whim I picked it up at the library. As an adult I still find this book to be witty and funny. Definitely still a classic children's book.
Short but packs alot in and I understand why this is considered a classic. It has all the mystery of a "full-length" mystery novel, straight to the point flow narrative (about mysteries and family), and still has it's shocking surprises.
This book is a Newberry winner. I sure would like to be in some of those meetings where they pick the Newberry winners. I'd love to hear their reasoning. Who am I to give it 3 stars?? It's all I could muster though.
I read this book because the Gr 4 students at my school were reading it for Battle of the Books. It's one of those books that I always thought I should read, but just never did. I'm glad to say I've now finally read it.
Unfortunately, the book wasn't a big hit with the students in my Battle of the Books group. I can see why. There isn't a lot of gripping action. It's a simple story. The mystery is good though if you appreciate art!
