This is the book I read back in 4th grade and it honestly made me the reader i am today.
This book clearly has a timeless appeal; I couldn’t help but wonder if the creators of “Night at the Museum” read this book when they were younger. Great book to create a lesson plan around, although the phrases the children use, dates the book a bit.
Favorite quotes:
"I want to go back different. I, Claudia Kincaid, want to be different when I go back."
"Everything gets over, and nothing is ever enough. Except the part you carry with you. It's the same as going on a vacation. Some people spend all their time on a vacation taking pictures so that when they get home they can show their friends evidence that they had a good time. They don't pause to let the vacation enter inside of them and take that home."

This is fantastic for all ages, but especially the 8-10 age. It shows that kids can learn and do anything. It's adventure for the history books.

Another one of those books that I didn't actually read myself. But unlike some if the other books my teacher read to me, I kind of remember this one. When I was looking at the summary, i actually knew what they were talking about! And I even remember the kids' names! Well anyway I think I sort of liked this book even if it was based in new york.
