Awesome book! Really loved the story of Dali & Jim from the Kate Daniel series, and the Anna Strong novella.

Magic Dreams by Ilona Andrews - 5* - I loved this story of Jim and Dali, a weretiger, and how she tries to save him from an evil spell. I'd really like to see the two of them together again!

Ice Shards by Yasmine Galenorn - 3* - I have not been able to get into any of Yasmine's other series, and this one seemed overly long. This was also my least favorite story in the book.

Double Hexed by Allyson James - 3* - I'm a big fan of Janet Begay, but this story fell flat for me.

Blood Debt by Jeanne Stein - 4* - This was a solid addition to the Anna Strong series. Will Stephen show up again? I really liked him!

I think Dali and Jim deserve a full book!

Truthfully I only read Andrews part of the book. Dali who most of us have heard of in the Kate Daniels series as the small, blind, shapeshifter who can't drive is the lead character in Magic Dreams. Unlike most of the shapeshifters she isn't strong, and aggressive, but slightly timid and very smart. When it comes down to a battle with a demon, to save the life of her alpha, and secret crush, her intelligence comes in very handy.

Confession time: I have only read the Ilona Andrews story (downloaded on to my Kindle app the moment I finished Magic Slays, to help stave off the withdrawal symptoms) and I will probably read the remaining stories, but please note: these four stars belong to Jim and Dali. Such a delightful couple and I had a blast reading their own story. My only complaint is that I would have liked more time spent with the two of them interacting, as their dialogues were fantastic. I know it's unlikely, but a Jim and Dali spin-off series would make me very happy indeed...

I actually only knew one series featured in this book prior to reading it (and boy was I happy to read Dali's and Jim's story). The other stories were really great too.
Unfortunately I couldn't connect to the Otherworld story by Yasmine Galenorn, but that's probably because I don't know anything about her books. But I'm still planning on reading her books and will come back to her story in this one, whenever I come around to it.

I can definitly recommend these stories, but I would also recommend only doing so if you've got at least some idea about the original series.
