This was fine. It wasn’t bad, but it didn’t really have the same effect as the others did. I think I tend to find a romance that evolves more around characters growing and changing to love each other more than a plot that relies on circumstances to keep the main characters apart. I will just have to read more books to be sure. 🤭

I'm just going to say it: this book should be re-titled. The "scandalous" thing that happens, while correctly classified as (somewhat of) a scandal 1. is very well received by everyone around and 2. occurs like 80% of the way into the book. The title of this book makes it seem like a salacious installment, but it's honestly the most tranquil installment. I liked how everything worked out, and watching Matthew and Daisy fall for each other was super sweet, but I do think it's funny the book with scandal in the title is the most chill (some might even say the most "boring") of the series.
I loved the dramatic irony of the Bowman girls insisting Matthew was one way when everyone else (readers, Marcus, etc.) could clearly see he was different. The fact that he's been privately yearning for years? Yes please.
Overall, a very satisfying installment, albeit a bit poorly titled.

Daisy's story is different from her sisters's but in a good way. The romance with the side of injustice was an unexpected combination. Both the characters were very well written from the beginning to the end. Loved it.
