Never have I ever read a book that felt like a slap on the face. 1984 is about a totalitarian and sadistic world where
WAR IS PEACE
FREEDOM IS SLAVERY
IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH

Science and intellect do not exist in this dystopian world. People are ruled by fear and hatred; and doublethinkably people also worship fear and hatred.

What is scary about this book is its relevance to our present day world. How did George Orwell (Eric Arthur Blair) predict the future? More importantly, how did it get to the point that we choose the 1984 life?
