The poems I loved the most: Telemachaus, Aubade with Burning City, Immigrant Halibun, The Gift, Self Portrait as Exit Wounds, Into the Breach, Seventh Circle of Earth, On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous, Untitled (Blue, Green, and Brown): oil on canvas: Mark Rothko: 1952, Notebook Fragments, and Someday I'll Love Ocean Vuong.

not gonna pretend like i got any of this, buT its gonna be fun to figure out and grow with. there's alot of pain and destruction in this collection and i had to put it aside for a bit in the process of reading this. I dont think i got all the trigger warnings but just know its heavy and deals alot with dense and inherently sad and traumatic topics.

"maybe we pray on our knees because god only listens when we're this close to the devil"

"from men, i learned to praise the thickness of walls. from women, i learned to praise. if you are given my body, put it down."

"as if my finger, / tracing your collarbone / behind closed doors, / was enough / to erease myself."
