This took me nearly two months to read it was so heartbreaking. The rawness of emotion was so hard to see on the page, but I’m glad I did read it through to the end (for a minute there I nearly set it down for good, it was that powerful). It was clearly something the artist needed to get out of his system, and it’s good he has. The world needs more versions of people’s lives shared.
This book was based on the sudden death of Hart's 2-year old daughter. It goes through the grief his wife and him experienced for their daughter, Rosalie. The entire book is done in black & white & it is clear how much she was loved by all that encountered her. It goes through his regret and all the things that remind him of her in every day life. It was a very sweet dedication to a wonderful little girl.
Heartbreaking! I can't imagine (don't even want to) losing a child. That this father could have the strength to capture all that pain and be willing to share it with the world, is incredible.
