So, I may have cheated a little. I started this graphic novel in the summer but for one reason or another I put it down then picked it up again today.
It truly did take me 2 sessions to finish, but not consecutive sessions.
This book really deals with depression and loss and grief in a very good and healthy way. It’s explained in a graphic way, a visual way that I understood as well. Losing someone is hard and this plot line shows exactly what is going through your mind or heart after the loss. It was a very compelling graphic novel and I liked it a lot.

Graphic: Child death, Grief
Started reading this one night, and then stopped due mostly to exhaustion. I don't know what to say about it other than it's a very emotional and vulnerable work. I was on the brink of tears by the end of it.
I hope it helps people heal, helps people be more mindful and empathetic to people grieving (an in general) and also encourages us to treat each other with a little more consideration/compassion because you never really know what someone else is going through.
May add more to this later, may not...

Ultimately the ending of this book felt like everything I hoped it would be but the reading itself felt somewhat uneven and lost (now that may completely have been a deliberate choice, but I felt lost as a reader and that's not the experience I usually look for so I stand by that comment).

This graphic novel is an extremely good memoir. This is up there with the best of American Splendor in my view for a GN that captures the pain and joy of life. I highly recommend this book but be warned if you have raw unprocessed grief in your life, it might be tough sledding. I myself had to take frequent breaks to hug and cuddle with a five year old to help me through it. This might best be something digested over a period of time to let it sit.
I give it my highest rating. It's everything you can hope for from the medium.

A heartbreaking and beautifully told story about the grief and emptiness after losing their 2 year old daughter.
