- Quirky town (Everyone has a nickname, ie Bowlegs)
- Feuding families (Kings & Sullivan's)
- Grumpy Single Dad
- precocious daughter
- professional mourner
- book club that's not really bookclub.
All these things make this book hilarious and unputdownable! Wyatt, our grumpy single dad meets Lark our professional mourner at the funeral services for Bowlegs as she's paid to mourn him due to Outtatowners ongoing feud between the founding families. One Look, and Wyatt knew there was something about this woman that would burrow under his skin, sear his brain, and command his heart. She was a perfect fit for the Sullivan clan and once our grump let go...he couldn't let go of the woman who not only captivated him and his daughter, but his family and the entire town...both sides.
The easy banter and undeniable chemistry made this book a complete win for me and I'm seeing maybe a forbidden romance in the future.

Combined Review for One look and One Touch
Spice: 1.5-2/5
Plot: 3-3.5/5
I wanted to love these so badly, cuz the special editions are SO gorgeous. Buuut I love the covers more than the books lol.
In all honesty, these books aren’t bad. There’s literally nothing wrong with them, at all. They’re just…. bland. Very very vanilla. Which, isn’t a bad thing and if you’re just starting to dip your toes in the ocean that is the romance genre, these are probably a great place to start! But for those of us who like things with a little more spice, these probably won’t cut it for you.
The first one is about a retired NFL player, single dad, super grumpy - really really not my vibe. The second one was a bit better; a little enemies lovers, brothers best friend, ex’s older brother and one poker scene that I actually quite liked.
Would I recommend them? Not to everyone that’s for sure. Am I going to read the rest of the series? I’ll give it a go at some point probably lol.

I just kept waiting for the story to grab me and suck me in and it just.... didn't?
It has all the right ingredients it just didn't have that IT factor that grabs you, ya know?
- Quirky small town
- Grumpy, single dad, quiet hero who is former NFL turned coach
- Sunshine wanna be actress, who cries at funerals for money
- Cute kid
- Small Town rivalry

3.5 stars. I appreciated there was no third act breakup. It wasn’t a bad book…it was just “ok.”
Grumpy sunshine is literally MY trope. And it was done well, even if they were a little too grumpy and/or sunshine.
The whole family feud thing was weird. Maybe because it was never explained or resolved. It was just something that kept coming up…but didn’t really add to the storyline.
Again, it was a fine book.

I enjoyed this more than I thought. First, I am not typically a contemporary romance reader but joined the probably smut bookclub and this was the first book. I was not able to buddy read as much but still finished before we get to chat with the author. Wyatt and Lark are tru grumpy sunshine. There is spice, and while some reviewers say this is 5 peppers, I rate this 3 but the dirty talk is Yum-o there just is not that much of it (sorry). I love when there is a short series, this is a three story set up for the Sullivan family and the next one is for the sister Kate and I am all in. This was a fast read and a great pallet cleanser. Penny the daughter is 7 and playful, and while obviously an integral part of the story, this is about the relationship of Wyatt and Lark and she is just the adorable cherry on top! Oh, and the Metallica fire scene lives rent free in my head along with her entire dynamic of Lee :) I would recommend this to someone looking for a quick read especially on a beach.
