Lena Hendrix never fails to write bingeworthy, small town romances! This book had so many hilarious moments, quirky characters, a lot of tension and so much swooned. I would have liked a little more time spent building the connection between the main characters since it felt very lust-focused, but everyone got their happy ending in the end so there's really no big complaints!

It was a little slow in the beginning. I remember yelling at the book "I am 100 pages in and they need to just screw already" and then bam it was soo satisfying. the ending of the book and how they figure things out was soo heart warming. Would recommend this book!!!!

I think I’m obsessed… no I am!!
Wyatt and Lark are my everything’s!!
The former nfl player turned grumpy college football coach had my whole heart. His love for this daughter (penny) is so special. Then we have Lark the professional mourner who now has more than a few reasons to stay.
More to come…

My very first L.H. book. I absolutely devoured this story!!! I am fully immersed in my small town era & this family is going to be SOOO GOOOD. I can already tell.
First of all, the storytelling was done very well. I can picture "Outtatowner" Michgan from the coastline and beaches to the downtown strip and its back roads.
Lark was such a fun character to read. I really enjoyed her original job, a hired mourner? Are you kidding? That's great!!
I liked how she interacted with the College boys & Penny. She was a natural caretaker. She blended in with that family really well.
Wyatt isn't as grumpy as one would assume. I liked that he was just focused and didn't need a distraction. His grump-factor was mostly just avoidance. I loved how soft he was with Penny.
Penny was friggin great!! I loved the Chicken funeral. Goodness Gracious.
Priceless.
The scene where Lark gets stuck in the sand dunes & has to ask which direction Wyatt preferred for her to come down? I nearly spat my beverage out my nose.
This was a fun story, great humor, and really great charactors. Super excited to read the rest
