What I liked:
-Loved the dynamic between Meddy and her family (was also super accurate for anyone who’s grown up in an Asian family with lots of loud and loving aunties) and appreciated the broken English in the text (and the author’s note about including it out of fondness and love, not out of mockery).
-Also loved the twists??? Like this book was a wild ride from start to finish and nothing turned out the way I expected it to.
-I literally audibly gasped at several points (the corpse turning out to be Ah Guan, Nathan showing up, Maureen knowing Ah Guan, etc).
-Loved the background sapphics too (although I called that one lol).
-The vibes were also very Crazy Rich Asians somehow, although I’m not sure why? But I loved that too.
-And when Nathan proposed to her at dim sum?! MY HEARTTTTTT. This is going to work so well as a Netflix movie and I can’t wait to watch it.

What I disliked:
-not much! I wish there would have been a little bit more of a fallout when Meddy blew up at the aunties; the emotional impact of that was lessened a bit by the fact that they were captured and held at gunpoint by Maureen right after that, but that was a minor complaint.
