I had high hopes for this one but it just wasn't there. I get its based on cultural heritage but it was hard to follow. it had good potential but just wasn't there.

Medeline Chan, or Maddy accidentally kills a guy, and her family, especially the matriarchy (Big Aunt, Second Aunt, Ma and Fourth Aunt) help her to get rid of the body while her family prepare for the biggest Chindo weddings in South California.
SUPER FUN!!!!!!!!!! I can't stop laughing my ass off while reading every part of this book. In Indonesia, I can soooo relate with the Chindo aunties and Maddy. This book is entertaining and freaking hilarious. It supposed to be mystery and thriller-y book, but I manage to laugh over the situation that involving a dead body. WTF! HAHAHAHAHAA
I like the way Sutanto wrote every single words and dialogues, the banter, the relatable conversation between Maddy and the aunties, family, no matter what will help you and have your back, indeed. The romance, Nathan, not much a development, his appearance is only a tiny bit a sweetener to the story.

Implausible in the extreme, but funny and interesting. Nathan wasn’t well fleshed out, but I still liked him anyway. Maureen was wild, Tom was a shit, Jackie was cute, Meddy was interesting, the aunties and ma were so funny.
