Obsessed would be an understatement. This was literally the most engaged I’ve been in a horror novel in years. There were so many little details that were skillfully woven into the story that made Erin and Max feel so much more real in their decisions and reactions as well as in their personalities. It was also just genuinely scary in such a good way. I was so on edge through this whole book and the ending was really satisfying for both of the character’s arcs and also for the mystery/scary part of it. Loved it loved it loved it!!!

When I read the Authors Note in the beginning, he mentioned how the characters in his book are not trans for the sake of “inclusion” and to just be forgotten. The fact that these characters are trans is the whole point of this book. To learn about their different upbringings, their lives, their experiences with hate, jealousy, pain, and the need to find where you belong. The need to just keep living and to keep going even when facing terror. To just not be afraid anymore. When you learn to overcome that fear, you will have power over any hate. I love this book with all my heart and kept me on my toes the whole time. 5/5 stars!
