The premise was really interesting, but the characters fell a bit flat for me. I didn't really get the dynamic between Erin and Max, and I struggled to relate to or root for them outside of the basic "hope bigots don't kill you" sentiment. The world building was also a little vaguer than I was hoping for, though it had a lot of potential!
