Before I Go to Sleep

Really liked this one! Didn't want to stop reading.

This was a really fun, suspenseful read. Even though the narrator loses her memories each night, it wasn't confusing.

I'm a sucker for stories involving crazy amnesia. So yes, it stretches credibility at times, but overall, it's a fast and interesting read. This also is one heck of an unintentionally unreliable narrator, as her nature of forgetting everything each night plays into the fact that at any one time, she can be completely misinformed and therefore can misinform the reader/herself as well.

Boooooring

Okay, I'd like to give it 4 1/2 stars, but will err on the side of five. This book was even better than I wanted it to be. Our narrator Christine wakes up every morning and doesn't know where she is, who she is, or what is happening. Her husband explains everything to her every morning. Then she meets Dr. Nash, and starts to write things down. And oh, what a road we travel down. I had a lot of theories through this book, and I'd like to think mine came pretty close to the ending, but there were still some unexpected revelations. I enjoy a book with plenty of twists and suspense, but with those same things not going out of control and over the top.

WOW. wow wow wow wow wow.

I'll start off mentioning of the suspense. Oh. my. gosh. I could not read this fast enough. I had to know what would happen. And I am not even kidding, my heart beat super fast whilst I read this. It was that thrilling. The tension was insane.
You ever hear those quotes about a book being so great you have to finish it in one sitting - this book was it. I stayed up all night practically.

The mysteries in this story were never ending. Just when you thought one was uncovered another one unfolded. There were so many questions throughout this whole book that just leave you so anxious to find out the answers. I advise getting this book when you have nothing else on your agenda, because you probably won't be able to get much else done.

And the Characters. Oh my, how I loved them. Christine Lucas is just so fragile, so broken, and you can't help but feel for her situation. I wanted to protect her.

A concern I had before I picked up this book was that - with Christine having her memory wiped clean and all- each morning would be awfully redundant. Might get tiring after a while, I thought. But it did not. The author wrote beautifully, and I didn't have to worry about repetitive information. S.J Watson did a fantastic job.

I also enjoyed the psychological aspect of this book. I liked hearing along with Christine the traits and rarity of her condition. It was extremely intriguing.

So basically, this book was one paperbound bundle of perfect. It never lacked. It was always interesting. It had me gripped with fear and reaching for tissues. It was brilliant, just absolutely brilliant. I can't recommend it enough.
medium-paced

Not terrible. Told in an interesting way. Reminded I don't really care for thrillers, though, but that's on me.

This book makes an interesting read for a debut author.
