deus ex machina more times than my suspension of disbelief could bear. I love this kind of book but there were so many unrealistic things and the people were not good friends, spouses, children, anyone at all connected with the character. Suspenseful if you don't think - period. The set up was great and so was the story but characters did not act like anyone I know. A real professional Dr secretly meeting a patient. Huh? That's insane. A fun book but full of - well another reviewer mentioned that the character had two types of amnesia or three types which never happens. I think that reviewer is correct. The author simply made up the whole set up by creating rules of psychological and medical impossibility. It was still a fun ride until finished. Everyone always says, myself included, to read the book first if you want to watch the movie version. I did and honestly like the movie version better. What I just wrote, I hope no one will take this to heart. I don't have my journal and had a short nap before I wrote this so I'm not sure what I'm talking about. It all seems so vague. Wait! Have I read this book? Not sure but I must have. My phone is ringing. Maybe someone is calling to tell me what to do.

Don't xRe about the bad reviews. Book had flaws for sure but I couldn't put it down and I found it kept tricking me into not knowing what was going to happen despite myself. Great read

The reviews for this book are quite scathing about predictability and repetition. Maybe because I've read hardly any thrillers (or I'm just too slow!), I didn't guess the plot twist before the end. Knocked down one star for repetition - I agree with you there, Goodreads!

I read this book in just over 24 hours. It captured my attention and I could hardly put it down. Christine’s situation was both fascinating and heartbreaking. It was written in a way that it became a little confusing at times (was this in the present, in the journal or a flashback of memory) but overall written so well. I will check out other books by S.
