This was a very cute book. It’s probably closer to a 3.5, but not a 4 because I wasn’t dying to get to the next book.

The writing in this was funny and easy to read. I guess my issue with it was that it felt a little long.

I enjoyed how your favorite character changed a lot. Everyone was likable, but I loved Elizabeth.

I’ll probably get to the next books in the near future because my Mom loved these books so I’ll give them all a fair chance.

It's just like sitting down on a Sunday afternoon with your nan to watch and try to solve an episode of Poirot. Such a cosy murder mystery!

A bit of a slower start and a lot of characters to keep track of, but by the end it was a real page turner. I had really grown to care for our friends at Coopers Chase

I was much more invested in the characters than the plot and the murder mystery aspect of this murder mystery novel kind of runs out of steam towards the end. Loose ends are tied up hurriedly, a couple of authorial mechanisms are conveniently activated, and it lacked that one climactic scene where the great detective sits down all the characters and satisfyingly unveils all. Felt as if the characters were so vivacious and so real that, to be honest, they could be doing anything else (i.e. not solving murders) and it would be equally fun.

BUT. Such a fun read — thoroughly entertaining and recommended. Great book club material.
