It starts off slowly but the characters suck you in ❤️ I found myself verklempt time and time again at the end.

I tried to like this book.

I really was in the mood for a good crime read but this wasn't it. Meandering and multiple storylines that conclude in a somewhat bland ending.
To summarize the last half of the books plot imagine this dialog over and over again: did you kill him? No, but here is my sad backstory

and now I might kill myself

I listened to this on audiobook and I really enjoyed the narration. I have spent a lot of time in nursing homes, my mom has worked in one since I was a child and I also worked there for many years. It was easy for me to connect to the older characters, and I was moved by the types of struggles they face that are touched on in this book. It's a very funny murder mystery for sure, but there is depth as well. I laughed out loud, but I teared up and cried too.
