I enjoyed this book an awful lot more than I thought I would. It's an intriguing read with several twists and unexpected murders. I wasn't sure about having the occasional chapter from Joyce's point of view, it didn't seem to add much to the book in particular. Although I did find that her voice sounded like Patricia Routledge doing Kitty which was amusing. It was good to find a book where the main characters are all elderly for a change, although I think some people might find the discussions of dementia and suicide to be upsetting.
Minor: Chronic illness, Death, Dementia, Drug abuse, Grief, Gun violence, Medical content, Murder, Suicide, Suicide attempt, and Terminal illness

After being in a slump for a while, I finally finished The Thursday Murder Club! As soon as it was released I knew I wanted to get my hands on a copy.
In a peaceful retirement village, four friends meet weekly to discuss unsolved crimes, known as The Thursday Murder Club. When a local developer is found dead with a mysterious photograph left next to the body, the Thursday Murder Club suddenly find themselves in the middle of their first live case to solve. Can they catch the killer before it’s too late?
First off, I really did love the characters; each one was fleshed out and their personalities shone through (Joyce being my favourite). Every chapter presented a different perspective, something which I always enjoy in a book. You also don’t often read from the view of older characters so that was something fresh and new.
Everyone had a different motive, and I was kept guessing till the end.
The only criticisms are that I found some parts of the book slow at times, but that might be mainly due to the fact I prefer a more fast paced thriller. Halfway through I did feel like I was forcing myself to pick it up to read... but I flew through the last 100 pages.
For those who love a cosy little murder mystery, this book is definitely for you!
