This book got my out of my reading slump. It was fast paced and the characters were lovely. I do understand why it’s not to everyone’s taste but I quite enjoyed it.
The main issue for me was that there were just too many characters, it got a bit tricky to keep up with them all. The main characters, however, kept me coming back for more.
There were funny moments and the more serious moments were handled delicately.
I’d recommend it if you’re looking for a cozy mystery.

A nearly perfect book. So funny, and also incredibly tender and sweet. The characters are brilliant and I love them so much. However, do check the content warnings for more
suicide
than I expected. I wish that
Ron and Ibrahim had done a little reflecting on how their words might have affected Bernard.

I listened to the audiobook instead of reading it so take this with a grain of salt: the writing was just alright.

The characters were very lovable, and for a mystery novel there really weren't that many loose ends.

The cast of characters were delightful and the soul of the book. It was so refreshing to read about older protagonists having an adventure. The mystery is genuinely quite mysterious and fairly satisfying at the end. I've already picked up the next 2 books and look forward to visiting Coopers Chase again very soon.
