This was a sweet book! Overall, I thought it was strongest and most enjoyable at the beginning when Violet, Audrey, and Bert were all friends. Violet was a disappointing character to me - I felt like she had the potential to be so much more... and she just didn't grow. Audrey, on the other hand, was such a surprising character. One reason I rated this book lower was that I felt the present day storyline was weak and drawn out, not very interesting. I didn't get to know those characters at all and would have enjoyed that. A sweet book, but a bit forgettable.
