Hello drama! This book felt like a dramatic telenovela romantic comedy (kinda of like Jane the Virgen). It was funny and over the top but in a way that made the telenovela theatrics enjoyable instead of gimmicky.

This has been on my kindle since 2020 and I finally read it! It was fun. At times the main characters annoyed me. I took this outside to the park across from my apartment, and then the first love scene happened. Oops. 😂 it was worth it. I'm glad I finally read it, and am looking forward to last one coming out later this year.

Super cute story. I'm definitely a sucker for romance and happy endings. Loved reading about Jasmine and Ashton. I enjoyed also getting a glimpse into their work life which brought them together.

As an Ecuadorian-American who was born in the states and is STILL not fully fluent in Spanish but feels a deep connection to Ecuador, this book hit alllll the right spots. I watched telenovelas with my mom and I loved Jane the Virgin and Ugly Betty. I'm so glad this romance is out for people to read.
The story was well-paced, warm, spicey

Cousin trio = best part.

General take: Everyone really just needed to go to therapy; the back and forth, plus SO MUCH black and white thinking? It got a bit old. Like, okay, Ashton,
you have a secret kid and you think that keeping him isolated will make him have a "normal" childhood? Wtf.
Also weird to want to be famous without fame but didn't read this for the realism.

Tv show they're making sounds fun, liked how family was key part of both MC lives. Interested enough to read the next one I think.

2.5 rounded up. Aggressively OK.

I resisted because the title was corny as hell, (like I *never* would've picked it up if a non-latinx author tried to pull that off) but I'm glad I fell in. Delightful if predictable. You mostly wonder when and how the 'dealbreakers' happen rather than if.
What I really, really loved was watching the character arcs of the main characters play out against the arcs of the roles that they play on the show. And especially when the MCs thoughts, desires and fears show up in their TV roles.
The behind the scenes of TV production was interesting too.
Daria nailed it with her assessment of Yadriel, what an incredibly well-adjusted kid.
And I smell a sequel with Michelle!
