HOLY COW AND ALL HER CALVES. (see what i did there? Because I’m kind of a cow girl? No? okay.) THIS BOOK IS FLIPPING GOOD I CANNOT EXPRESS EMOTIONS!!!!
I will do this review first in Spanish then in english because me, my home, my culture is so present in this book, it's like having a little piece of home.

ENGL
I have read tons of books, many of them not having Puerto Rican representation or something close to that, so much so that I forgot how incredible it is to read about someone like you. That sometimes their Spanish accent comes off when speaking English, that their culture is on their skin for everyone to see, that many times the words in English falter so you have to pull out Google Translate in order to say the word you know in Spanish. This book, from the first page, grabbed my heart and didn't want to let go. It made me feel so seen, my culture so present, that I found myself smiling or commenting on different parts of the book. From the way there were some cousins that Jasmine clearly preferred over others, to the way Ashton's dad acted with Yadiel, it all reminded me of my little island. This book is amazing and everyone should read it.
The characters, each one of them, were an unexpected breath of fresh air, each so Latinx but so different from the one on the side. I loved the dynamic between Jasmine and Ashton - the tension, the drama, the secrets, THE LOVE! Oh these two gave me a headache and chills for most of the book. Above all, I loved the development of the characters and being able to see them being vulnerable and growing and accepting, being able to be frustrated with them (and wanting to throw the book on the floor) but also seeing them fix their problems and face their mistakes.
In conclusion, everyone should read this book, it's a fucking order. THERE ARE NO EXCUSES. Thank you, that's all :)

I really liked the beginnings of this book. How could I not - she’s a Latina from NYC after all. :)
Somewhere halfway through, I started to get bored with the characters. I know romcoms are supposed to be fluffy and predictable but this was just *too* predictable if that makes sense? It also seemed like things felt a bit off and rushed between the two main characters.
I loved the Latinx representation and would love to see more of this!
