Cute, quick summer read!
"Hope doesn't hurt you, Pepper," she whispers. "People do. Hope lightens you and lifts you and expands more room in your heart than you know what to do with, And sharing that hope with someone that will care for it and tend to it like it deserves only lets it grow more and more."
“I love you, Opal. I love you and your messes and your laugh and your hair and the way you say my name with that perfect, exasperated sigh that makes me feel like the word was created just for you to speak it.”

I had a fun time reading this and greatly enjoyed the characters but didn’t hit hard for me and probably will not pick it up again.

This book was so cute and relaxing to read. It felt like watching a gay Hallmark movie. But with more gay sex. :)
The initial romance between the two was a little unbelievable at first, but as they got to know each other it felt less forced and more natural.

Graphic: Sexual content
Moderate: Death of parent
Pepper often talks about her dead caregiver and struggles with grief. This book handles it well and it’s not too harsh/upsetting, but I could understand someone not wanting to read that during a romantic comedy. Some of the sex scenes leave little to the imagination, but there is no violent sex/kinks or rape/sexual assault.hanaaa124's review against another edition
