5 stars for contemporary/social commentary, 2.5 stars for mystery/thriller.

The book was awesome social commentary and I would have rated higher if it wasn't sold as a mystery/thriller. The perpetrator was obvious from pretty much the beginning to me. Though the "tentacles" of it were bigger than I thought. But did make sense.

It did a good job of making me think about how Asian Americans are treated in this country. Which was obviously the main point of the book.
