This book offered quite a few different narratives - past and present. It wasn't very difficult to keep track of the characters (yippie!). Toward the last 200 pages or so I began to skim a few paragraphs because my focus was waning. I appreciated the descriptions of land and beast, but for a large book like this, it became a mite tedious to read. Impatience on my part, but the book moved too slowly for me halfway in.
This book covered a lot of topics of the past and present. I enjoyed the writer's perspective on these topics and he wrote them with an understanding of multiple opinions.
Overall, this was a great book! I wish it were a little less lengthy but other than that I enjoyed it and would recommend.
