I rated the four stories seperatly. The average was 3,75 stars which I rounded up to 4 stars.

Diary of a murderer (4,5⭐️)
Very well written image of what dementia would feel like in my mind. The story was kind of all over the place which probably is how byeongsu was thinking. I was constantly thinking he was being gaslighted but then remembering that his POV was unreliable. I enjoyed all the references to different poems too. It showed how even though byeongsu was confused he still had some of the specific knowledge he had gained in his life.

The origin of life (3⭐️)
I enjoyed the story but found myself confused about the meaning of it. Was this about love, abuse, hapiness or seojin’s meaning of life? I am not sure. I might have to read it again to truly understand but I still enjoyed reading it.

Missing child (4,5⭐️)
What a sad but beautiful story. I immediately felt connected to Yunseok and felt bad for what his life had come to be after his child had gone missing. This story is a good representation of mental health issues and what it does to the people around.

The writer (3⭐️)
I was so confused but enjoyed the story.

A beautiful compilation of short stories. Though not always the experiences that are emphasized, each story highlights the frailty of various human experiences.

Each story did contains the arrogance and tragedy of men.
