Fun read about two coworkers at a third tier theme park in Orlando who fall in love.

She’s nerdy and reserved and he’s charming and has blue hair. Opposites attract!

There’s serious backstory that creates lasting issues for both of our main characters but while that’s important to the story it doesn’t overwhelm the more typical romance elements.

There’s one section with an extremely detailed description of an old time Christmas special that jolted me directly back to my childhood and that will send me down a google rabbit hole to find it online somewhere. I love that she felt compelled to put that in to the story for those of us from a certain generation. LOL.

I confess that I liked reading the acknowledgements almost as much as I enjoyed the novel. This author and I have uncannily similar taste in pop culture.

Side note: this is my 1000th review on Goodreads! That’s crazy!

read this book.

asa is my fav boy in a novel in a loooong time. perfection. love how casual the LGBTQ stuff was--it was there of course but wasn't a major plot point and wasn't anything lauren even thought about. especially w eliott. intimate scenes were written well, not cringy. light in comparison to some but i'm not one to complain about that. bonus points for being placed in florida bc i live here and it's not a typical location for any sort of media!

epilogue was amazing too. last line was so damn CUTE.
