It's almost strange (in a good way) to read these books where you get a simple story and a resolution within the hour. I like the faeries and the creepy atmosphere. And the illustrations are great. Overall, a very short and fun read.

Not a bad sequel. Story is still very fast paced and intriguing enough to really keep the reader going.

Continues to have great character building and smooth introduction to new creatures.

Still loving the artwork in this story.

These books function as one immediately consecutive story, each one a smaller adventure in the wider tale. This one is when things start getting more serious: a kidnapping, new monsters, and some pretty gruesome details. Diterlizzi and Black stick to a gothic + childhood adventure vibe, and aren’t scared to veer into darker events. I know that the fate of Simon’s cat really sobered me as a kid, and it did the same today.

My favorite book out of the original series. Mark hamill bodies the troll voice in the audio book.

This was not a long book but I really did enjoy the Rhymes and seeing new creatures this was definitely fantasy I love the twins and how his sister went to him oh and see you've got detention I don't feel like he is a bad kid I feel like he might have a ADHD or autism or something like that but I love the little characters they're so cute and then how he saw his brother getting beat up by something invisible such a great book I've seen the movie what never read the books I couldn't believe this this was one of Holly blacks books oh she's at least a co writer
