"Destined" tells us about the war between Klea and Avalon, serving as a wonderful ending of the "Wings" saga. I don't think there are that much significant growth in any character in the book, but I feel that the author has improved a lot since her debut book, "Wings." She used to explain unnecessary details in the previous books but now she can narrow down her focus on more important ones. I love how she explained about the summer fae illusion during the war. Her idea about the cure and about Yuki's gift to Tamani is also perfect. The story itself is very interesting. Kind of a mixture of "Harry Potter" with all the war happening and The Iron King with the "I can't protect you" talk: adventurous and sweet.
Unfortunately, I think this book lacks the proper climax, despite its "realistic" and "unavoidably bittersweet" ending, as the author described, though I don't think it is THAT bittersweet. I feel that during the climax, Pike hinted towards a happy ending for this book, making "Destined" quite predictable, at least for me. Climaxes should serve as the protective cover of the ending; it should confuse the readers in thinking whether this book is gonna be happy or not in the end. I really feel that she could do so much better with the climax, just as how she could do better with the semi-new characters, like Yuki.
Yes, I hate Yuki a lot. No matter how pretty, how sweet and how innocent she may look like, I still hate her. She can't decide, she can't think straight, she is so easily manipulated and I just hate the fact that a foolish girl like her can a Winter fairy. I never see her more than a stupid, selfish girl with great powers and the fact that she likes Tamani bothers me a lot (especially since I'm Team Tamani). And even throughout the end when she actually realizes her mistake, I still couldn't tolerate her existence. Sometimes, the conversation between characters were also kind of forced, especially when Klea tries to manipulate David. Pike, please. We all know that David is not gonna believe such shallow lies. And even though Tamani had served as a counterargument so well, it still seemed to be pushed too much.
But overall, I think "Destined" is a very fun read. I enjoyed every sentence of every page, that's why I gave it a 4-star rating. It's worth it. I will miss Laurel, Tamani, David and Chelsea a lot. Brilliant job, Pike.

I LOVE TAMANI.
All that green hair.
*Swoons.*
It had a more mature, bittersweet ending than I thought it would've have.

Dear sweet Jesus of all that is holy.
I don't think there is spoilers, but if there is....
You have been warned.
I bought the first book to his series on a whim, a freaking whim. And now, through the end I'm in love and my love for Aprilynne Pike is so strong.
She planned everything wonderfully, true some things got a bit rough and edgy, but I must admit that this book, the ending to the series was just amazing. This review won't be too long and annoying, but you guys must know, that his series won't disappoint you.
Those who rated this book lower than 4 stars needs to open their eyes and stop being a freaking prick, because this series is amazing and some people are to set on being different and not going with what the really feel, but being "different".
The true ending to the series is really amazing and made me cry and if you truly love the characters, you too will understand and cry and shed your tears.
This review is almost pointless, but this book certainly isn't. Its the best ending to a series and you surly won't be disappointed.

This was one of the best book in the series. I was glad when everyone came together to help alavon out in it's time of need. I was very happy with the ending.

I really love that humanity was seen as vital. While I rooted for Laurel and David at first, I couldn’t stop feeling for Tamani and wishing she’d choose him. I find it so nice that he and David ended up being friends at the end.
Shar’s death was tragic, the grief and destruction that happened in Avalon tangible, and I just simply loved this book and really like the series.

The Wings series will always hold a part of my heart. One of the most imaginative stories I've read. Destined was the perfect ending as Claudia Gray says on the front cover. I will miss reading about Laurel and Tamani, but I'm sure sometime in the future I'll return to Avalon.
