The second book in her "8th Wing" scifi romances, I think I may have enjoyed this one moreso than the first (Collision Course). Celene (the Black Wraith pilot) and Nils (the 'NerdWorks' engineer) made for a pretty stimulating duo. Archer ratcheted up the sexual tension between them quite a few times, but I think I enjoyed how much the two of them were just...discomfited by the other. For different reasons and that they were had the same fears, confidence and conceit at times. Celene was briefly mentioned in the first book, as the pilot that Mara and Kell ended up helping to rescue from being sold off.

I have a soft spot for nerd and geek heroes, and love to see the quiet guys come out to save the day. In Chain Reaction Zoe Archer crafts a delightful story of two exceptional people, a tech wizard and a fighter pilot, and makes their love story believable and entertaining.
