These issues were, in my opinion, the first missteps in Chip's series. There are characters awkwardly injected into important roles without enough explanation or background (the girl Elektra takes in and Fisk Jr.). The volume starts off showing the tail end of symbiote god (?) Knull's invasion, and there are actually some pretty sweet character designs and action scenes. I don't understand why this alien god looks like an 18th century slave plantation owner. I was bored with the majority of this trade, but I understand it's finishing off one mini-arc and setting up pieces for what will unfold soon.

Continues to be great. It’s impressive that Zdarsky is able to avoid derailing his story with the crossover.

I thought the first two tie-in issues to King In Black weren't great, some of that story stuff is important for the next phase of this series though. The one thing that I felt stuck out the most was Mary becoming a bodyguard and then immediately being taken by the venom alien stuff and then not the bodyguard anymore. Other than that the pacing of the comic is really great, all the stories are progressing nicely and it's just a really fucking great comic.

With one Daredevil in jail, another Daredevil patrols Hell's Kitchen...

Zdarsky's Daredevil run has been great so far so it was inevitable that I would read this.

Things continue rolling forward. Elektra has assumed the Daredevil and duties while Matt Murdock deals with prison life. The symbiote invasion derails things a bit but Zdarsky manages to roll with it. I like how Elektra has taken on a ward of sorts.

Marco Checchetto continues to dominate things on art. Adriano di Benedetto, Mike Hawkthorne, and Marcio Menyz round out the art team. Hell's Kitchen and the prison are both places I'd never want to visit.

Was Doing Time the greatest volume in the series so far? No. I think the series is losing a little momentum but it's still great. Lots of seeds have been planted and I'll trust Zdarsky at the wheel for a long time.

Daredevil: Doing Time is another great entry in one of the best modern Daredevil runs. Four out of five stars.

I love Elektra as Daredevil. I love her giant hair and her costume and her frustration with Matt’s rules and her fearlessness. I would have read a hundred issues of this.

This was a shorter volume, but I basically couldn't put it down today. Elektra as the new DD kicks so much ass! Weirdly loved the King in Black crossover issues, definitely have to double back to Donny Cates' Venom run at some point.
