I honestly wasn't sure how I would feel about Throne of Glass, seeing as reading my way through the ACOTAR series is such a hit or miss. I do enjoy this book for what it was. I think you can tell that SJM was younger when she wrote these as times it comes across as, for lack of a better description, cheesy and a little dopey. Celaena is a little cartoony at times, and can be rather hard to take seriously as a the country's greatest assassin.

But it was fun, and I can understand why so many people enjoy it.

7/31/15 Review: Well this wasn't too bad. What kept me reading were the characters. I genuinely liked Celaena, Dorian, Chaol, and Nehemia.

The downside of this book is that it's supposed to be all about this notorious assassin and I didn't get any stabby-stabby until the end. Also, she was supposed to be at the castle for a competition but there was very little of the tests they had to go through. What I got was a lot of story about her relationship with Dorian, Chaol, and Nehemia. Luckily this was done well. I'm hooked enough to read the next book but there better be some more action.

Didn’t have the SJM ending flair that I’m used to. For a first book though… I’ll give her credit. Was still a really solid fantasy, and I’m super pumped to read the rest!
