The cliffhanger from the first book had me RUNNING to the second!!
I enjoyed reading through Brynleigh and Ryker's rebuilding of their relationship. Love a broken relationship getting back together!! I still would have liked more of the world lore to have been explored, but I do realize the books lean more towards romance than fantasy. This series is a solid read for folks who want to read an easy to follow romantasy.
I wish we could have seen more of Brynleigh and Ryker happy together at the end, but I'm looking forward to River and Nik's books.

The first book was ok. If the first didn’t leave on a cliff hanger I wouldn’t have read the second. The writing needs to improve. The internal monologues of the main characters was so repetitive that it became annoying. “I’m so upset at what she did, but I love her”, told over and over. Or “I lied to him, will he forgive me?” I found myself skipping so much just to find out how it ended.
