Just meh. It’s fine. But Anu is a ping ponging mess of emotions and actions, and I don’t love her getting back with her man child husband (they need to have therapy for sure) and the kid is a literal afterthought for everything. She basically needed to be there for some actions to land harder, but otherwise the author seemed to feel she was not worth being part of the plot.
I really didn't care the main character, it seemed like she never really knew what she wanted. Apparently she needed to grow up, but I didn't really feel she grew at all, she was so wishy washy it was annoying. Premise was good, just could have been a lot better. Ok for a quick, time pass, read.

i had so much fun with this!!! i felt like one of anusha's friends watching everything happen to her, that she was making dumb decisions and saying the wrong things but i loved her as a protagonist and i loved that her adventure ended where it started :') super sweet book that doesnt center much on romance as it does on growing up and finding yourself!!! i needed this after my the last book i read filled me with anxiety 😭

3.5 stars. A contemporary fiction with romantic elements set in Vancouver! A complex and flawed heroine whose journey of figuring out the "why" of her life is relatable with its ups and downs. I enjoyed reading it :)
This is probably more like a 3.5-3.75 but it was exactly what I needed.
The last two years I’ve greatly enjoyed stories about Indian women/families living in the US.
Highly recommend for anyone who enjoys stories of “older” women who get a new lease on life after the end of a marriage/relationship or “find themselves” later, after being lost in wife/mom land. Although our lady here is only 30, she fits into that story well (see summary)
SUMMARY: Anu has always been a “good girl” she married her parent- and community-approved boyfriend (Neal) at 23, after dating since age 19. She also went to nursing school because that’s what her parents wanted and was “practical” for a new wife. She also had her daughter young, was dutiful, stayed close to her MIL...
At 30, she felt sad and depressed with her life and cohabitation marriage. She leaves her husband, starts a new relationship with Ryan, a hot white guy no one approves of... and buys a yoga studio bc that had always been her dream...
But then she catches Ryan cheating, the yoga studio is about to go belly up, and xyz.
Things keep getting worse for Anu, but through it all she figures out who she is. She finds herself again and gives herself the happy ending she actually wants instead of doing the good girl “right” thing that’s makes everyone happy AND instead of doing the
