The book is slow paced at first, and was hard to get into. Probably in part because it’s halfway thru a mystery series as it’s a Ellie Huskell Mystery. It was still interesting to read, but it became clear who the murder was. The book was quite short and yet confusing. More time could have been spent hashing out details, and explanations. A lot of the dialogue was weighty and hard to follow. I am though willing to try another Ellie Huskell mystery.

Couldn't get past the first twenty pages. The book is that bad. Boring and the writing makes no sense. I wonder how this became a book

I'm not sure if coming into this series on book 9 made a difference, but I found it hard to get into. It was an ok book overall. I plan on starting the series at book 1 to see if that will change my perspective. It seemed like things were told over and over but there were also parts that needed further explanation. Not at all what I expected from reading the description.

A blurb on the cover said, "Wuthering Heights on steroids." I agree-in the best way! Enjoyable, relaxing read.
