Last read of the year and it was… not great.
I would say, I don’t think this one was meant for me. I thought it sounded cute, but I guess I’m not the target audience tbh.
But genuinely I had so many issues with the pacing?? It felt so confusing and awkward. I struggled to piece together the scenes and how they fit together. There were parts that moved too quickly and a few that were too slow.
Concept and certain plot points were interesting… but overall, not something I’d recommend

I have never read something that better represents my experiences as a teen! I appreciated all the subtle references to early 2000s emo/goth culture woven throughout, and a narrative where adults and peers are actually supportive to a young adult experiencing harm.
