I’m such a big fan of Alaska. I loved hearing about her journey and how hard she worked to get where she is. She inspired me. This book got me through a dark time that I’m having. Although Alaska’s success as a drag queen is great, what I’m most impressed by is her growth as a person. I highly recommend this to any drag race fan.

This book allowed me to see Alaska in a new light, providing more context to the version that was displayed on Ru Paul’s Drag Race. I listened to this via Audible, so I had the pleasure of hearing Alaska’s own voice, which added way more personality. Overall, 4 stars from me, mainly because I thought it was a little too short, and I wanted more.

Alaska’s memoir is heartfelt, reflective, and full of tea about her and Sharon Needles’s relationship. It reads like a series of short anecdotes a friend might share on a night out… “one time I blagged free VIP tickets to a Lady Gaga show” etc. but with the added bonus of TONS of pictures - some blurry photos from club night performances and some high quality staged photos where you get to really appreciate the art of drag. A great read for fans of RuPaul’s Drag Race!
Moderate: Alcoholism and Toxic relationship
Minor: Drug use and Homophobia

Enjoyable, insightful, and a breeze to get through.
Alaska showcases what makes her a complete superstar a person to root for.
Great for fans of drag, drag race, and of course... Alaska.
There's a lot of queer experience here that is fantastic to read.
