J'arrive pas à finir. Certains passages sont chouettes mais j'y arrive pas. Ya des trucs dans le style qui ne me parlent pas, je trouve ça un peu trop classique. Puis voilà, comme souvent quand je lis des auteurs ça se sent beaucoup trop. Alors lire un personnage vouloir violer une femme qui pourtant pourrait tout à fait être consentente je comprends pas. Plus ce perso féminin qui n'est que passivité c'est chelou.
Donc je suis les conseils d'une pote pour réussir à reprendre la lecture et j'abandonne les bouquins qui ne m'enjaillent pas.

I know this is a classic, and everyone loves it, and I like existential fiction as much as the next guy, and I can't believe I'm saying this, but it was unbearably boring. Reading this book is like watching a fly bumping its head on a window and being able to read its mind - you know there's no way it's getting out, and there is nothing worthwhile in its head.

I enjoyed the reflective nature of the story. Several ways to interpret it. Maybe finding meaning and purpose amidst futility. Or a more nihilistic read. I went into the book assuming it would center a woman, so I was disappointed that was not the case. I also did not enjoy the sexism and the rape mentions and moments.

a bit of a tedious read tbh honestly, the plot and the idea was intriguing but the mainly character was insufferable so it was difficult to get into it
