Happy tears... I loved this book, so much... 'nuff said. So highly recommended.

Loved this book, finished it in about a day so I think that says a lot about some books.

Okay. Its a chick lit book! It isn't something hardcore "I love novels that are about serious issues" sort of book. Its a nice fluffy beach reader.

I feel I would have gotten more from the book being a paperback (my fault I appreciate) but I felt this was a book I could read and throw out? It isn't something I'll come back to because I'll remember it instantly if I started it again.

I liked the characters - I didn't feel the connection between her and Ian but that was because he was nasty to her 85% of the book, maybe tone that down.

I have however found an author I will revisit. The writing is good - much better than this review is - and the characters are fun and likable. Only four stars because it isn't something I would probably pick up if it wasn't a holiday read... chick lit's are good in small short bursts but they aren't my normal read daily.

I love to read contemporary romance but it's really hard to find ones that are funny, heartwarming and filled with romantic tension with just enough drama without it being too dramatic and depressing. When I was asked to review this book, I almost said no because when it comes to contemporary romance, I've found only a couple of authors who can do it "right" for me--Julie James being the only one I consider an auto-buy. Well, I am so glad that I this book and the author a chance because I found myself a new contemporary go-to author in Kristan Higgins! I am most definitely going to be checking out her backlist.

There were plenty of laugh-out-loud moments in this book with a great heroine in Callie. She is one of those happy, carefree types that wears her heart and emotion on her sleeve which is very refreshing as I don't remember reading a heroine like her in a while. Her hero, Ian McFarland, is the opposite of Callie but I liked him anyway. There was great tension and spark between them and I rooted for them to get together. However, since the book is in first-person narrative by Callie, I wish I knew what Ian was thinking in certain parts of the book. There were quite a bit of secondary stories involving Callie's family throughout the book but they didn't take away from the main storyline and I enjoyed them anyway. Overall, All I Ever Wanted is a fantastic read with great characters. It reads like a feel-good romantic comedy and I absolutely adored it! I highly recommend this book.

All I Ever Wanted is quite honestly a guilty pleasure. It’s a pretty predictable book, full of characters who have no financial worries or obligations, it seems. As much as I don’t want to like romances, I like this book. The characters are likable, the story is sweet and there’s really nothing not to like about it. It’s probably not something you want your super classy book club to catch you reading, but it’s definitely a good beach read.

This book is great for a young 20′s reader and, I will admit, older readers will likely enjoy it as well (if you like some fluff in your reading, that is).

I love the characters in this book. Callie’s optimism, her grandfather’s love for her though he tried not to show it, her siblings & their interactions & her parents as well

extremely questionable use of the r word. but ian is hot.

I 5000% would have kept the chair but, other than that, perfect.

This was a good book, but the heroine, Callie, grated on my nerves. A few places in the book made me want to smack her.

Read this in 4 to 5 sittings!

Absolutely loved it!! I laughed, I cried; it was funny, it was sad. I haven't enjoyed a Higgins novel this much since Too Good to Be True, which is the first book I ever read by Higgins and have been reading her ever since. I fell in love with Callie and Ian, and found myself rooting for them throughout. The entire Grey family was great. Noah, Callie's grandfather, is funny, lovable, and a absolute dream of a grandfather. Her parents are divorced, although her father is trying to win back her mother, and her sister Hester is a total riot.

Callie thought she was in love with Mark, but it turned out to be more of a junior high crush that lasted until adulthood. She met Ian, her true love, when she was at her all time worst and they still were able to make it work, though it took some effort. Ian's great; he's somewhat shy and reserved, whereas Callie is very outgoing and has never met a stranger.

I didn't like Fleur, Callie's so-called friend, at first sight. She the kind of friend that makes you not need enemies. Mark was a complete jerk and Muriel was a total airhead. If I could have had any respect for Mark, I would have lost all of it when he started letting Muriel run the show.

If a cute, witty, light-hearted romance is what you're looking for, you can't go wrong with All I Ever Wanted.
