A slick, fast-paced thriller with an ex- lawyer brought back into the game under extreme threats, who has to draw upon his shady, morally grey past to prevail. Sure, a slight suspension of belief is needed, but it's a fast page turner that kept me interested and wanting to know what he'd do next to get himself out of trouble. A solid palette cleanser for all the fantasy I've been reading. Will probably continue reading this series.

Not my usual read, but enjoyed it enough. Well written and paced. I didn’t really care for the characters or feel invested in them, but I didn’t enjoy the general plot and the court scenes. Not rushing to read this series but would consider reading more in the future.
