Enjoyed main character. He was interesting and his inner monologue was not annoying. Plot was also interesting with many twists and turns

This is the third book I’ve read in the Eddie Flynn series. If you don’t know, SC makes it very clear that you can read this series in any order. So far, this one has been my least favorite (I’ve read book #5 and book #8), but that tracks for a series starter. It only gets better from here.
I had a feeling from the beginning that this wouldn’t be a favorite, mostly because the plot unfolds over 48 hours… and there are 309 pages. So I expected it to drag a bit. That doesn’t mean I didn’t like it. Steve Cavanagh knows how to write a story that pulls you in. I could see it all play out like a movie in my head. I know exactly what every character looks like.
What I appreciated most about this one was getting more of Eddie’s backstory. He was a con artist before he became a lawyer, and this book really shows how those two worlds collide. Witness 8 is still my favorite in the series, but we’ll see if anything else tops it.
