I very much like the Eddie Flynn character and his backstory. And the story line here is interesting and intriguing. Too often, however, we get a level of detail that seems to only pad the length rather than advance the story. There are also unnecessary obstacles that slow the pace without adding any suspense. I'll try the next one in the series because I like the character, but I hope the pacing is improved.
