This legal thriller has piqued my interest in the legal proceedings and my curiosity for the next chapters intensified —yes, this book was hard to put down.

Looking through the mind of Eddie Flynn was something that pulled me in. He was smart, yet he can be outsmarted, too. He was strong, yet he can be vulnerable, too. He was able to survive, yet his own thoughts would betray him at times.  Even his comparisons between a con-man and a lawyer have given me realizations, too. He was human and relatable, Eddie Flynn was.

His legal adventures were descriptive and action-packed I can even imagine the scenarios described in the book. Sometimes I even felt I was also a character since I was immersed with the situations and the next happenings. Of course I knew the conclusion won't be given without any plot twists and it was satisfying.

And now, I can't wait to start his next adventure.

If you want a heart-pumping story with the lawyer-version of Jason Bourne/Jack Reacher AND you want to sweat the entre time as if YOU were the one wearing the bomb... this book is for you.

Overall, this book was too intense and "spy guy" for me (I'm one of those readers who prefers my characters to be mere mortals in non-sci--fi books). I had loved and devoured [b:Thirteen|36217425|Thirteen (Eddie Flynn, #4)|Steve Cavanagh|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1505068558l/36217425._SY75_.jpg|57852930], which I didn't know was book 4 in a series until I'd logged it here. That provoked me to get in the verrrry long line for book 1. I liked it, but not nearly as much. Perhaps Eddie Flynn has aged/softened enough by book 4 to be more "real" ::shrug:: I am going to pick up book 5, whenever my library gets it.

I’ve recommended “Kill for Me, Kill for You” to anyone who will listen and I was so excited to find this series because from the description I expected it to have Lincoln Lawyer/Bosch vibes. Maybe my expectations were off, but I just struggled so much to get into this book. Not sure if I’ll continue with the rest of the series.

This book is every straight white man’s Jack-Reacher-Fantasy, but it kept me engaged and wanting to find out what happens next.

After enjoying Fifty Fifty so much, I knew I wanted to read the Eddie Flynn story from the beginning. This was a great action packed thriller filled with tense and suspenseful moments.

This book sees Eddie Flynn come face to face with the Russian Mafia who have kidnapped his daughter, forcing him to be the lawyer of leader Volchek who is suspected of murder. Eddie has no choice but to do everything he is told while wearing a bomb and fearing for his daughter’s life. Due to his past as a conman, Eddie has plenty of his own connections, including the Italian Mafia, and knows how to scheme and con his way out of the most frightening situations.

Even though it started right in the middle of the action, it still took me a couple of chapters to get into this. Once I was in, I was in. Steve Cavanagh has a great way of writing that you can visualise the story and the action clearly; the streets of New York, motorbikes zooming through the city, walking along the edge of courthouses - all written in a way that has you on the edge of your seat.

I found this book to be filled with excitement and found myself really rooting for Eddie as he tried to outsmart the Russians at every corner and his frustrations towards the FBI for not playing ball. While the ending was somewhat predictable, it was the way the story was told is what makes this great.

Some of the descriptions did have me a little lost at times and I didn’t find the twist shocking or anything, but I really like Eddie Flynn’s character and look forward to reading the rest of his story. It was good to learn about his background story, but I honestly think that could have been a great book in itself.
