I love the Eddie Flynn books so finally decided to read the first in the series! It's a really enjoyable action thriller but the plot got a little far fetched and convoluted about halfway through.

I love a good police procedural.  Now add in an ex-con man and twists and turns and I’m hooked!

Meet Eddie Flynn. The ex con man now turned lawyer. Eddie quickly finds himself in precarious situation, the Russian mob has kidnapped his daughter, and the only way to save her life is to help them get the head of the mob acquitted at his trial… that starts in just a few hours. And he also has a deadline. He only has 48 hours to figure this out and save himself and his daughter.

Eddie has so much fun knowledge in this dark part of the world it was fun to be able to root for him but also see the under belly of the mob  and how his past has shaped him into who he is.

This was an easy read and it kept me enthralled the entire book. Can’t wait to read the others!

This book had a powerful beginning. I had a ridiculously high expectation because I enjoyed the author's newer release, and the beginning looked very convincing. I was quite sad that I started to lose interest near the third act, where everything started to unravel. Perhaps it was because I've been mentally exhausted lately and wasn't in the proper mental state to digest this story. I just felt like the great build-up took too long, and I didn't particularly care about some part of Eddie's past.
