Leaning into 80s nostalgia, One Word Kill is for aficionados of D&D and unjaded fans of unlikely heists. While the themes of cancer were handled well, the characters and story failed to resonate with me. The coincidences felt forced and the emotional stakes were not ones in which I had invested.  While I appreciate the author's adroit wordcraft, this one wasn't for me.

Well written, engaging plot, loved the science/math references and explanations. I really didn't like the way it ended, but overall it was enjoyable enough that I'd like to continue the series and see where it goes from here.
